The subprime crisis revealed why the goal of realizing a fair and just financial system must go beyond merely providing access to loans and services. Consumers only benefit when they can trust that the financial products they use will be safe and reliable. We seek to enhance consumer protections in all of our work.

On February 15, 2016, we wrote a letter to the FDIC addressing our concerns with the new high-cost installment loans offered by Republic Bank of Kentucky in partnership with Elevate Credit. The letter also addressed Republic’s Refund Advance product, a new tax-related refund loan. Click below to read:
